Walldancing Workshop

August 3 @ 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm UTC+0

Workshop: Intro to Wall Dancing

This introductory workshop in aerial dance with harness aims to build the concept of the “aerial
body” by exploring the various possibilities that harness suspension offers.

In this workshop, you will learn the technical fundamentals and basic tools to explore the aerial
space, both on the wall and in the center of the room, allowing you to expand your bodily and spatial
awareness.

We will begin by preparing the body on the floor through yoga techniques, breathing, stretching, and
strength exercises. This will be followed by an introduction to safety and equipment handling, leading
to the magical experience of flying.

No prior experience is required. This workshop is designed for artists, performers, and dancers who
want to explore a new form of artistic expression, as well as for anyone interested in discovering a
unique and fun way to train.

Who is your coach?:

Gigi Bostjancic, aerial dancer, instructor, performer, researcher, and creator born in Buenos Aires,
Argentina. Curious and restless, she discovered her passion for teaching and movement over 20 years
ago.

She is a specialized teacher in “Education through Art” and trained as an aerial dancer at Brenda
Angiel’s school with Cristina Tziouras and Leonardo Haedo, with whom she continued working at
“Espacio Hache” for over 10 years. She expanded her training as a physical performer with Gilda
Tesone and as an aerialist in various circus disciplines such as fixed and dance trapeze, Chinese pole,
flying pole, lyra, and hammock. She has directed aerial dance research projects with harnesses for
duets and on sailboats.

She created “Épica,” a space for aerial research and creation, developing retreats and aerial dance
experiences in natural settings such as trees, mountains, and sailboats.
She was awarded the “Glenn P. Davis Scholarship” by Frequent Flyers Inc. to participate in the
“International Aerial Dance Festival 2014” in Boulder, Colorado, USA.
Currently, she resides in South Florida, USA, where she hopes to share her experience and creativity
in collaboration with the local aerial community.
