SUMMARY:Walldancing Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Workshop: Intro to Wall Dancing \nThis introductory workshop in aerial dance with harness aims to build the concept of the “aerial\nbody” by exploring the various possibilities that harness suspension offers. \nIn this workshop\, you will learn the technical fundamentals and basic tools to explore the aerial\nspace\, both on the wall and in the center of the room\, allowing you to expand your bodily and spatial\nawareness. \nWe will begin by preparing the body on the floor through yoga techniques\, breathing\, stretching\, and\nstrength exercises. This will be followed by an introduction to safety and equipment handling\, leading\nto the magical experience of flying. \nNo prior experience is required. This workshop is designed for artists\, performers\, and dancers who\nwant to explore a new form of artistic expression\, as well as for anyone interested in discovering a\nunique and fun way to train. \n  \nWho is your coach?: \nGigi Bostjancic\, aerial dancer\, instructor\, performer\, researcher\, and creator born in Buenos Aires\,\nArgentina. Curious and restless\, she discovered her passion for teaching and movement over 20 years\nago. \nShe is a specialized teacher in “Education through Art” and trained as an aerial dancer at Brenda\nAngiel’s school with Cristina Tziouras and Leonardo Haedo\, with whom she continued working at\n“Espacio Hache” for over 10 years. She expanded her training as a physical performer with Gilda\nTesone and as an aerialist in various circus disciplines such as fixed and dance trapeze\, Chinese pole\,\nflying pole\, lyra\, and hammock. She has directed aerial dance research projects with harnesses for\nduets and on sailboats. \nShe created “Épica\,” a space for aerial research and creation\, developing retreats and aerial dance\nexperiences in natural settings such as trees\, mountains\, and sailboats.\nShe was awarded the “Glenn P. Davis Scholarship” by Frequent Flyers Inc. to participate in the\n“International Aerial Dance Festival 2014” in Boulder\, Colorado\, USA.\nCurrently\, she resides in South Florida\, USA\, where she hopes to share her experience and creativity\nin collaboration with the local aerial community.
